Heart of the Phoenix
A fantastical journey into the heart of the Phoenix (Part 2 / 4)
Hey Friend,
The Phoenix energy is often associated with the fire of inventiveness and innovation, but so often, we forget to discuss the other side of that fiery energy.
When Phoenix energy goes unchecked, it can burn uncontrolled like a wildfire. This excessive pushing can create a level of burnout beyond what your four bodies can handle. Your four bodies are your mental, spiritual, emotional and physical bodies. Each of them has their own specific needs to function optimally.
Let's see how Fotiá handles this in his life.
Welcome to Part 2.

The Never Ending Story.
We all have limits.
He put the stone in his left pocked and walked off with his dad.
A few days later, his mom uncovered the stone during laundry.
"Is this yours, Fotiá?"
"YES! I've been looking for that! Thanks Mom!" he snatched it from her hand and ran off to his room.
He sat down at his desk and put his left thumb over the phoenix symbol. The Phoenix symbol was raised slightly above the base of the stone.
Again, he read the inscription on the other side, "Be the water."
He remembered his dad's words, "That water is meant to carry your dreams and wishes up to the Gods, so they can give them to you!"
He remembered his wish, but never thought it would actually come true. How could it? People cannot fly, he thought.
He placed the stone on his nightstand and went to bed.
Shortly after he fell asleep, the phoenix symbol began to glow a bright blue.
He tossed and turned all night, with dreams of flying through the universe in the shape of an eight.

Up, down and across, up and down and across, then all over again!
ZOOM, SWISHHHH!
He felt alive, and here and gone all at the same time!
Just when he got to the top, he started falling. He tried everything to stop himself. He flapped his arms. He tried to think of a way to stop. The more he tried to stop, the faster he fell.
Right before he hit the ground, he woke up in a cold sweat, heart racing.
"I can fly!" the boy cried out.
He turned to the stone on the nightstand and gasped!
There was a new Phoenix symbol burned into the stone in a bright, fire engine red.

He flipped the stone over and the phrase had changed to, "Flow."
"First be like water, then flow?! What does it mean?"
He put the stone in his backpack and planned to make his way to the riverbed later that day after school, hoping to see another sign like the lightning.
As he was walking to school, he heard a familiar voice.
"Hey Fotiá, nice shirt!" His friend Alice hollered from across the street.
Fotiá hadn't bothered to look at the first shirt he grabbed to put on for the day. It was a new shirt that his mom bought him. It was the exact Phoenix symbol that was on his stone.
He nervously waved back at Alice and rushed off to class.
The Lesson
Signs are everywhere and Phoenix energy is no different. It can seem as though it's stalking you, even when you aren't looking for or aware of it. This is an indication that inspiration, passion, creativity begin within us, then manifest outside of us.
As we move through the Phoenix energy with Fotiá, I want you to pay attention to some signs and signals that he noticed and others that he didn't. Here are some ideas to consider:
Which obvious signs did Fotiá notice and acknowledge?
Which not-so-obvious signs did Fotiá miss and therefore, not acknowledge?
Was there a sign that he missed completely, assuming only the "best" about it?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on today’s tale.
