Fire of the Phoenix
A fantastical journey into the heart of the Phoenix (Part 1 / 4)
Hey Friend,
We're all familiar with the magical being known as the Phoenix. The celestial bird who ignites his own internal flame once he realizes that life needs to change and the only way to inspire that change is by starting fresh with the fire of transformation.
We don't often associate the element of fire with transformation, though that's exactly what it does. It can take one structure and change it completely into another. Fire is an element that has so many possibilities. A single flame can grow large enough to burn down entire towns and cities, creating chaos and destruction. In that chaos and destruction, there is no choice but to either pick up and move on, or to rebuild again, but better.
That is the energy of the Phoenix and it's where our story begins today.

His Name is Fotiá.
How to work with fire, without burning yourself in the process.
"What's up with all this water?" he asked, pointing to the river.
Fotiá is a curious 12 year old boy. His name means fire, in Greek. His dad thought it would ignite the passion of the Greeks and the eagerness to follow in his footsteps.
"That water is meant to carry your dreams and wishes up to the Gods, so they can give them to you!" His dad replied.
"Dreams and wishes?"
"Indeed! Anything you desire is yours, you simply must ask for it and wait for it to arrive."
"I wish I could fly!" the boy replied.
"Be careful what you wish for, my son. The wings of a bird can carry you, but only the wisdom to see dangers in the distance make it possible to land at the right time."
The boy rolled his eyes and sat by the riverbed.
He didn't understand what his dad was saying, but he still made a silent wish the Gods and cast a stone in the river. It bounced 3 times on the water, then landed at the bottom of the riverbed.
His dad motioned for them to leave.
Just then, a bolt of lightning struck the stone, startling the boy and his father. The stone flew out of the river and onto the dirt in front of the boy's feet.
He went to lift it and his father pulled his arm away, cautioning him. The stone was still smoking from the strike.
When the smoke died down from the stone, they saw an image branded on it.

The boy picked up the stone and on the other side, three words were inscribed, "Be the water."
The Lesson
Phoenix energy is both creative, and passionately inspiring, as well as chaotic and destructive.
It depends on how you use it and what your intention is.
When you're open to learning and asking questions, just like Fotiá, you can open yourself up to magical opportunities that only became available to you because you were available for them. It takes a willingness to see things differently.
When you are rigid and hasty, you may find yourself getting burned.
Life has a way of teaching us what we most need to learn, exactly when we need to learn it.
By slowing down, you can observe the lessons in each moment and allow the Universe, or the Gods to show you the next step.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on today’s tale.
